MICHAEL R. DAVIDSON

Michael R. Davidson was raised in the Mid-West.  Heeding President Kennedy’s call for more young Americans to learn Russian he studied the language in college and later at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California.  Military service took him to the White House where he served as translator for the Moscow-Washington “Hotline.”  His language abilities attracted the attention of the Central Intelligence Agency, and following military service Mr. Davidson spent the next 28 years as a Clandestine Services officer.  Seventeen of those years were spent abroad in a variety of sensitive posts working against the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact.

Mr. Davidson retired from government service in 1995 having achieved Senior Intelligence Service rank.

He thereafter founded two consulting companies and co-founded an industrial manufacturing company in Florida.  His articles and op-ed pieces have been published in the  American and French press.  He currently lives with his wife, three dogs, and a cat in the Shenandoah Valley.

Mr. Davidson is a founding member of the Spymasters Literary Guild.

Mr. Davidson’s debut novel, HARRY’S RULES, is a spy story set against the backdrop of the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
