BOB DIETERICH
Bob Dieterich is a proud native and lifelong resident of the capital district. A husband, father of three beautiful girls, a respected professional and a decorated veteran, Bob has made service a cornerstone of his life.
As Senior Vice President, CFO and an 18-year employee of a respected local community bank, Bob has helped local families prosper, and job-creating small businesses expand and thrive right here in the Mohawk and Hudson Valleys.
In 2011, his commitment and competence were recognized by the Capital District Business Review, which named him its CFO of the Year in the under $20 million business category. His expertise in finance and commitment to fiscal responsibility is further evidenced by his service as Treasurer of the Glenville Bank Holding Company, President of FNB Financial Services and Treasurer of Mohglen Corporation, and as Chairman of the CFO Council of the Independent Bankers Association of New York.
In 2008, Bob completed a decade of service to his state and nation as a member of the 109th Airlift Wing, New York Air National Guard. During his time in the Guard, Bob rose from enlisted Airman to the officer’s rank of Captain, earning an array of military awards including the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award (1 oak leaf cluster), the Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Medal (2 oak leaf clusters), the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon (rifle) and the NYS Defense of Liberty Medal.
In the aftermath of the World Trade Center Attacks on 11 SEP 2001, Bob served as part of the New York National Guard’s response and subsequent operations, and later supported the humanitarian aid mission in response to Hurricane Katrina. While he was never called upon to deploy to a hostile zone, Captain Dieterich’s leadership and dedication contributed significantly to the safety and preparedness of hundreds of crews and aircraft bound overseas operations.
Bob also serves as Chairman of the Finance Committee at his family’s house of worship, Scotia United Methodist Church and serves his hometown of Glenville as Vice Chairman of its Zoning Board of Appeals.
While he’s taking this season off, Bob says that his most challenging and rewarding opportunity to serve has been as coach of his daughters’ Tartan Girls basketball team.
